Parent Coaching with Partners
No Secrets Policy
✹ This policy is based upon the premise that when I agree to work with a couple who is parenting together (a Team), I consider that Team to be the client.
✹ During the course of my work with you both, It is possible (but unlikely) that I see one of you for an individual session, or receive a message from just one of you. These sessions and messages should be seen by you as a part of the work that I am doing with the Team, Please understand that these sessions are confidential, meaning that I will not release any confidential information to third parties unless I am required to do so by law or unless I have your written authorization.
✹ However, if I am to be effective as your parenting coach, I may need to share information learned in an individual session or individual message with the Team. I will use my best judgment as to whether, when, and to what extent I will invite this information to a session with the Team, and will also, if appropriate, first give the individual the opportunity to share their experience directly.
✹ If you feel it necessary to talk to me about matters that you absolutely do not want to be shared with your partner, you will want to consult with an individual coach or therapist who can work with you separately.
✹ This "No Secrets" policy is intended to allow me to continue to treat the client (the Team) by preventing, to the extent possible, a conflict of interest where an individual's interests may not be consistent with the interests of the Team. For instance, information learned in an individual message may be relevant or even essential to the coaching process of the Team. This policy is intended to keep the focus on growth and cohesion in your collective parenting journey with your parenting partner.
✹ I enter this coaching journey in full agreement with this “No Secrets” policy.
